Simtable for the South East

The Simtable for the South East project provided a state of the art, bushfire modelling tool, that was used to engage communities in localised place-based emergency information sessions. The aim of these sessions was to help raise awareness of existing and future natural hazards, identify vulnerable populations and assets, and improve community capacity to plan for, respond to, and recover from emergencies. In addition, the project helped to strength social cohesiveness and relationships with local agencies and stakeholders by demonstrating emergency scenarios that the community could explore together.

Over 120 stakeholders were engaged across the life of this project, including (but not limited to):

  • CRJO regional communities
  • NSW Rural Fire Service
  • Local & Regional emergency management officers
  • Red Cross
  • ACT Rural Fire
  • NSW Joint Organisations
